Route Driver (Long Distance)

Showcase Window and Door is a growing manufacturer of premium quality vinyl windows and  Window and Door Manufacturer in Golf Coast states.  Showcase Window and Door Company has experienced continued growth since our inception. In July, 2022 we moved to a new location in Greater Houston which doubled the size of our facility. Our move to Missouri City enabled us to increase our fabrication capacity and incorporate more computerized equipment and robotics. 

We are looking for an outside sales rep that has window and door product knowledge, confidence, accountability, trustworthy, honesty, professional presence, persistence, ability to listen, proven ability to develop and grow markets, customer development and maintain customer relationships.

Home base is Missouri City, drive daily through out Texas and Louisiana. Two to three over night stays. 8 different routes, no specific routes for each driver. Touch freight position.

Shift- 4:30am, follows DOT regulations. 

Job Summary: 

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for transporting windows, doors, and related building materials to customer locations and distribution centers across state lines. Drivers will be based in Texas and may travel out of state for multi-day routes.

Essential Functions: 

• Delivery windows & doors safely and on time to our customer base 
• Operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations
• Follow route schedules with adjustments as need to meet customer requests.
• Provide excellent customer service when answering customers’ questions regarding estimated time of arrival, location, etc. Interact professionally with customers during deliveries
• Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery paperwork
• Verify the truck load to ensure its conformance with shipping documents.
• Check truck's equipment and supplies to ensure road worthiness.
• Communicate with driver dispatcher to receive delivery/pickup instructions.
• Unload product while maintaining the trip's delivery schedule.
• Activate delivery verification scanners at point of delivery to record product receipt and signature.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete all required documentation

Education & Experience:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and current DOT Medical Card
• Experience with touch freight or manual product handling preferred
• Willingness to travel out of state and stay overnight as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• 1+ years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Skilled at driving and parking
• Able to operate a forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
• Experience with automatic and manual box trucks

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
• 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred

• Ability to lift up to 100lbs.
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
• Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts
• Comfortable with long-haul transport
