Our client is looking for an Associate Director of Nursing

Job Description:
• The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
• Acts for the Director of Nursing in Director's absence.
• Acts as liaison between hospital and outside agencies, i.e. Fire Department, Con Edison, Brooklyn Union Gas, Building Department, and State Health Department.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates all clinical care services provided by the unit, as well as all associated administrative operations and activities
• Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff
• Reviews, establishes, and maintains patient care protocol s and standards, ensuring that all federal and state policies, regulations, and guidelines for patient care are met
• Establishes and coordinates quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs
• Oversees the overall operations of the unit (s) reporting to this position
• Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating
• Performs related duties as required. organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating

Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
• Licensed Registered Nurse required
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience and minimum three (3) years administrative experience
• Must have minimum two (2) years of Infection Control or Quality Improvement experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers.
• Must be trained in and knowledgeable of all client policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and hazardous materials and maintain qualifications applicable to assigned work.
• Knowledge of all codes and demonstrate understanding.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.
• Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and stretch.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time at desk to perform job functions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time at required patient bedside and/or procedural areas."
