  • ​This job is a member of the Flight Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting communication between pilot and multiple Integrated Operations Center (IOC) functions to include Dispatch, Crew Schedule/Tracking, MOC, ATC, Meteorology, etc.


  • Special Assignment (SA) Duty Pilots are trained and work the IOC Duty Pilot desk while still flying the line.  The pilot will spend 1-3 years in this role.  SA pilots will work multiple shifts a month in the IOC and fly their line or sit reserve the other part of the month.



     

What you'll do


  • Provides assistance to line pilots for on scene problems in all areas of operation

  • Monitors IOC daily briefings

  • Keeps a record of operational issues to help identify trends and improve operational reliability

  • Assists with post-operational review of any non-normal operations (IROPS)

  • Engages in IOC Command Center drills and activations

  • Prepares daily incident reports

  • Assists in emergency response

  • Must be willing to work shifts to cover a 24/7 operation


All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • Current and qualified AA Captain or First Officer

  • 30 months as an AA mainline pilot


 


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • ​Domestic and International experience

  • 1,000 hours of flight time as an AA mainline pilot


 


Skills, Licenses & Certifications



  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

  • Knowledge of SABRE/DECS

  • Knowledge of all aspects of AA operations, policies and procedures

  • Ability to guide and engage team members to perform at the highest level

  • Ability to build, motivate, influence and maintain strong relationships with internal and external IOC customers

  • Proven strategic, analytical, planning and project management skills

  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail

  • A bias for innovative thinking; willing to propose calculated risks; learn quickly from mistakes, debrief and improve

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
