Safety Management Group is seeking a Safety Advisor in Clinton, Indiana.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Owner representation to partner with both Elanco and the contractor to support the safe execution of work
• Support contractors with daily task planning, job safety analysis, and hazard recognition activities
• Review job permits to verify they are completed and properly address hazards
• Conduct job site observations to verify work is being performed per approved job safety plans and daily task plans
• Participate in project planning meetings and safety committees
• Assist and periodically lead toolbox talks when requested
• Ensure high-risk activities are identified and mitigation controls are in place before work begins
• Be a resource to Stakeholders with the development and review of project plans 
• Provide guidance on compliance with all local, state, and federal standards
• Provide support with any additional safety duties that will be needed or affect the project

Requirements

• Seven-plus years of construction safety experience
• CSP, CHST, or OHST preferred  
• A degree in Safety or a related field

Physical Demands of the job may include:

• Moving about long distances
• Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
• Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Working in extreme weather
• Being exposed to loud noises
• Wearing personal protective gear correctly
