SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Construction in Lebanon, Indiana.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety at the forefront of their job, put the client's needs first, work effectively in a team setting, be self-managed, and remain flexible in the face of change.

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience in understanding utility and facility work
• Lead program implementation
• Train on the JSA process, manage contractor safety, and work permitting in the field
• Serve as a resource in the field to reduce risks with minimal oversight.
• Support site operations with commissioning and start-up

Requirements

• 10+ years of previous Construction Safety experience
• Industrial background with some construction
• Previously held a leadership role (i.e., manager/director title)
• Experience with new equipment start-up and commissioning of new processes
• Understands high-hazard work and can mitigate the risks with limited oversight
• Bachelor's degree in safety or related fields preferred

Physical Demands of the job may include:

• Moving about long distances
• Ascending/descending stairs and ladders
• Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Working in extreme weather
• Being exposed to loud noises
• Wearing personal protective gear correctly
