Safety & Accreditation Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports corporate-wide safety activities and directs and supports performance improvement initiatives. Responsible for a culture of safety at all facilities across PMS. Assures compliance with accreditation standards by working with PMS management and Continuous Accreditation Readiness Teams.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of experience and education. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare, business, administration, project management, or analytical field.
• Three or more years safety experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience as a project manager, team leader, and group facilitator.
• Computer experience required including proficiency in spreadsheets, report production and databases. Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.) experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully manage complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, make decisions and develop solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within teams.
• Demonstrated ability to write professional reports.
• Detailed knowledge of The Joint Commission Ambulatory and other safety-related state and federal regulatory requirements.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

• Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) strongly preferred.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

• May be required to use personal transportation to carry out job duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
• Must provide current personal owner liability automobile insurance and must maintain the insurance coverage throughout the course of employment in this position.
• Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy II.D.3, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, II.D.3, Drug Free Workplace, III.H and applicable state and federal laws.
• May be required to complete transportation-related trainings.
