Safety & Security Officer_2nd Shift

Diversified Personnel Services (DPS) is exclusively recruiting for a Safety & Security Officer for a well-established, mission-driven organization in the Fort Atkinson, WI area.

What You'll Do

As a Safety & Security Officer, you'll be on the front line of safety across the organization's facilities, helping to maintain peace of mind for everyone who walks through the doors. You will:

• Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.


• Monitor facility access, helping ensure the right people are in the right places at the right times.


• Protect life and property by identifying and addressing unsafe, unusual, or suspicious activity.


• Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, disturbances, or weather-related events calmly and efficiently.


• Collaborate with team members, administrators, and local law enforcement when needed to resolve issues quickly and professionally.


• Document incidents accurately and follow established safety and security procedures.


• Use sound judgment and appropriate de-escalation techniques when responding to difficult or unexpected situations.


• Communicate respectfully and effectively with employees, program participants, clients, visitors, and individuals of diverse abilities and backgrounds.


• Foster a culture of safety and respect, modeling professionalism and care in every interaction.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Background in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, lead, and de-escalate with empathy and professionalism.


• Excellent judgment and critical-thinking skills, particularly in unexpected or high-pressure situations.


• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently while remaining a strong team player.


• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals of varying abilities, backgrounds, and communication styles.


• Valid U.S. driver's license with an insurable driving record.


• Ability to meet applicable background and criminal history requirements.

Physical Requirements

This role is active and hands-on. You'll be moving throughout the facilities and responding where needed:

• Frequent walking, stair climbing, and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.


• Ability to lift 40 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.


• Bending, twisting, crawling, and standing or sitting for extended periods.


• Clear vision and hearing for effective communication and situational awareness.
