Requirements
The Safety Area Manager is a professional position responsible for the management of farm-wide safety protocols and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Safety and Attractions, the Safety Area Manager will take an active role in the training and education of full time, part time and seasonal staff on safety topics. Additionally, this position will advocate for safety across the farm, monitoring the effectiveness of prevention methods and implementation procedures. This is a part time, year round position that works a minimum of 20 hours per week with increased hours during the summer and fall seasons.
Responsibilities:
Helps oversee all aspects of medical and security teams and team members
Coordinates emergency response procedures
Maintains and enforces safety programs and policies
Responds to calls for safety occurrences and requests to include unanticipated events
Ensures reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner
Partner with other departments to ensure safety company wide
Provides ongoing, on demand training and guidance for a variety of staff
Assists with preseason set up and cleaning
Assists with postseason clean up and winterization
Duties and Tasks by Season:
Spring
Inventory all medical supplies
Develop and submit supply order list
Reach out to current seasonal supervisors and team leaders to get an idea of who will be returning for the season
Begin to audit current training manual
Inspect medical sheds, form repair list
Summer
Help clean, organize, maintain various locations across the farm
Assist with pre-season safety inspections
Maintain photo catalog
Assist with equipment inventory and stocking
Assist with gator training
Assist with specific safety training at orientation
Assist with security needs
Fall
Review and document radio traffic
Document unrecorded safety calls for separated parties, lost and found and medical occurrences
Prepare weekly safety data reports
Conduct detailed daily inspections farm wide
Maintain and review daily safety sheets
Record and check on maintenance needs from daily safety sheets
Assist with gator training
Assist with safety training
Document requests for radio maintenance
Track, clean and maintain radios
Assist with equipment inventory and stocking
Assist with security needs
Winter
Assist with winterizing locations across the farm
Assist with inventory
Maintain SDS library
Other duties as business requires
Requirements:
Experience in large venue/campus safety and security
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
First-aid, CPR and AED certifications
Computer literacy
Demonstrated leadership
Organization
Multitask
Detail oriented
Energetic self starter
Excellent communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
EMT or above certification or experience
3+ years safety experience
OSHA 10 or 30 card (general industry or construction)
