As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Coordinator to join our team in California.

Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective safety programs and initiatives throughout our organization. As the Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting safety assessments, and providing expert guidance to minimize risks and create a safe working environment. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a site-specific safety program for each on-site project, in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
Oversee that regular safety audits and inspections are conducted of on-site projects to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents, inspections, and training.
Communicate with project management on safety issues and concerns.
Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety measures.
Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work practices.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees, including new employee orientation, safety meetings, and specialized training as required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver safety-related communications, guidelines, and training materials.
Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to internal and external stakeholders.
Complete and maintain OSHA logs.
Complete and maintain safety websites and certifications as required by clients.
Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure accessibility and accuracy, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of hazardous materials, their properties, and appropriate safety measures among staff members.
Reviewing and conducting ergonomic evaluations as needed.
Implement and maintain Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

Qualifications:
Three or more years of proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role, preferably in the AEC industry within California.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) are preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards, including Cal/OSHA requirements.
Familiarity with conducting safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and developing safety programs.
Experience working with union employees in the field a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to travel to different company sites within California, Oregon and additional states as needed.
Valid Drivers License

Location and Salary:

This position will report to our Pleasanton office (open to Redwood City and Sacramento). The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $89,000 annualized depending upon experience, education, and geographical location.
