This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving risk reduction goals by leading safety and ergonomic improvements across the plant while developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements. The candidate needs to be able to think outside the box, encompassing lean and manufacturing engineering principles, day in and day out. In this role you will: Identifies and mitigates safety hazards; enforces safety standards and conducts training. Leads root cause analysis and problem-solving to improve cost, quality, and performance. Supports design reviews and new product development to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency. Manages cross-functional projects with defined goals, budgets, and stakeholder communication. Drives and sustains process improvements using change management tools like ADKAR. Contributes to capital equipment selection and CAR development for new initiatives. Participates in manufacturing assessments, serving as lead or category champion when needed. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Candidates graduating in May 2026 will be considered. Six (6) months of manufacturing experience, including internships/co-ops. No relocation assistance will be provided. Only candidates that reside within a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. 1-2 years of experience with safety engineering. Proficiency in various software applications - i.e., SAP, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, MS Office suite, MiniTab Knowledge of OSHA Standards Knowledge of application of ergonomic principles in workstation design Thorough understanding of production environments (low volume/high mix and high volume/low mix) including safety/guarding requirements. Experience/Exposure to Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, or Coil Winding. Experience with lifting equipment - i.e, cranes, forklifts, hoists Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e., value stream mapping, one piece flow, 5S, Standard work, visual controls, daily accountability, process checks, etc. Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e., thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
