Position Purpose

The Safety Manager leads LifeMed Alaska’s safety programs and culture to ensure a consistently safe, compliant, high-reliability environment where risks are proactively managed, incidents are prevented, employees feel supported, and regulatory excellence is sustained.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, partnering closely with operations, leadership, and frontline teams to embed safety into daily work as a shared responsibility and core value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve LifeMed Alaska’s safety programs and Safety Management System (SMS)
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CAMTS, state, federal, and company standards
• Conduct and oversee incident investigations using root-cause analysis
• Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and track prevention effectiveness
• Partner with operations, leadership, and vendors to integrate safety into daily work
• Deliver safety training, orientations, drills, and awareness initiatives
• Oversee audits, reporting  inspections, and compliance checks
• Maintain strong field presence and support safety operations statewide

Qualifications

• You bring Minimum 5 years of safety management experience
• Strong situational judgment, communication, and leadership skills
• Proven ability to operate effectively in dynamic, high-stakes environments
• Commitment to ethical, mission-driven, and safety-first decision-making
• Demonstrated accountability and continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to travel statewide and support field operations
• Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
• CSP or equivalent safety certification related to EMS or healthcare environment
