Join a General Contractor supporting the ground-up construction of a 1.9-million-square-foot Amazon distribution center in Melbourne, FL. This is an 18-month opportunity providing comprehensive construction safety oversight on a large-scale commercial/industrial project from active construction through later project phases.
The project consists of a conventional structural steel building with tilt-up concrete construction and extensive MEP installation. The Construction Safety Manager will provide field safety leadership across multiple subcontractors and trades while supporting high-risk activities including steel erection, concrete operations, crane and rigging activities, elevated work, heavy equipment operations, and MEP construction.
This role is ideal for an experienced GC safety professional who is comfortable managing safety across multiple trades simultaneously on a fast-paced, large-scale project.
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification paths:
✔ 4-Year Degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Construction Safety, or related field
OR
✔ BCSP Certification such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent designation
OR
✔ OSHA 500 Certification with 6+ years of construction safety experience

⭐ Tilt-up concrete construction experience

Provide daily safety leadership for the General Contractor across the project
Maintain a highly visible field presence throughout the 1.9M SF construction site
Provide safety oversight across multiple subcontractors and active trades
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
Monitor structural steel erection and ironworker activities
Provide safety oversight for tilt-up concrete construction and related operations
Monitor crane, rigging, hoisting, and material handling activities
Support mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction activities
Monitor fall protection, elevated work, scaffolding, and aerial lift operations
Oversee heavy equipment and mobile equipment interaction throughout the site
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, lift plans, and pre-task plans
Identify unsafe conditions and drive timely corrective actions
Coordinate safety expectations with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and craft personnel
Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices throughout all phases of construction

Success in this role requires maintaining a strong field presence, anticipating hazards as the project progresses through steel, concrete, and MEP phases, effectively engaging with subcontractors and project leadership, and driving consistent safety expectations across a 1.9-million-square-foot jobsite.
