Construction Safety Manager








Location: Jeffersonville, OH & New Albany, OH
Duration: 9 Months (Hard start date: 8/31 or 9/1)
Type: 1099 Contractor


Compensation & Schedule


Pay Rate: $49/hr (Local), $45/hr (Non-Local). A gas card will be provided to cover fuel costs for driving between 2 sites.
Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Minimum 40 Hours Per Week
Additional Schedule Details: Potential overtime available. Candidates should be prepared for schedules ranging from 5x8s to 5x10s depending on project demands.

This opportunity provides hands-on safety oversight for sheet metal installation activities within two fast-paced commercial and mission-critical construction environments.


The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with sheet metal crews, subcontractors, supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain compliance, and support the safe execution of ductwork installation, material handling, equipment setting, overhead work, and mechanical construction activities.


Required Qualifications


✔ OSHA 30 Construction Certification
✔ Minimum 2+ years of construction safety experience


Preferred Qualifications


⭐ Mechanical Contractor Safety Experience
⭐ Sheet Metal Construction Experience
⭐ Data Center Construction Experience
⭐ Amazon Fulfillment or Large Commercial Project Experience
⭐ CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential


What You'll Be Doing



  • Provide daily field safety oversight for sheet metal and mechanical construction activities

  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas

  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments

  • Monitor overhead work, duct installation, material handling operations, and equipment use

  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements

  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions

  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel

  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors

  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation

  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports

  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
