Job Description - Safety Manager


Location: Atlantic City, NJ
Duration: 3 Months (Start: ASAP)
Type: 1099 Contractor


Compensation & Schedule


Pay Rate: $56/hr (Local Candidates) OR $52/hr + $140/day Per Diem (Travelers)
Per Diem: $140/day (Non-Local Candidates)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Approximately 60 Hours/Week
Additional Schedule Details: Rotating 12-hour shifts. Available shifts include 12:00 PM-12:00 AM and 12:00 AM-12:00 PM. Overtime and extended schedules may be required based on project needs.

Required Qualifications


✔ OSHA 30 Certification
✔ Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience
✔ Experience supporting structural steel, civil, marine, or heavy construction projects
✔ Strong field safety presence and hazard recognition skills
✔ Experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety observations
✔ Ability to work extended schedules and rotating shifts as needed


Preferred Qualifications


⭐ Army Corps of Engineers project experience
⭐ Marine construction or dredging experience
⭐ Structural steel and rebar installation experience
⭐ Heavy civil construction safety experience
⭐ Experience working around waterways and marine operations
⭐ CHST, ASP, CSP, STS-C, or other BCSP credential


What You'll Be Doing



  • Provide daily field safety oversight for structural steel, rebar, fabrication, dredging, and civil construction activities

  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas

  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments

  • Monitor steel erection, excavation, marine operations, and heavy equipment activities

  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements

  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions

  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel

  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors

  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation

  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports

  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, field-focused safety professional with experience supporting structural steel, heavy civil, marine, or dredging projects.


Success in this role requires maintaining a strong field presence, proactively identifying hazards, effectively communicating with craft personnel and supervision, and ensuring steel installation, dredging, civil construction, and marine activities are executed safely while supporting project productivity and schedule objectives.
