Project Scope
This short-term environmental remediation project focuses on addressing PFAS contamination through controlled containment, removal, and treatment of impacted soil and groundwater. The work involves strict adherence to environmental regulations, safety protocols, and hazardous material handling procedures.
The Site Safety Manager will oversee all on-site safety operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining a safe work environment for crews performing remediation activities. The role requires active field presence, coordination with project leadership, and continuous monitoring of safety practices across high-risk operations.
Qualifications
✅ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety from an ABET accredited institution with at least 5 years of large project construction safety experience as a titled safety professional; OR
✅ CSP or CHST certification with 5 years of experience as a titled safety manager; OR
✅ OSHA 500 certification with 5 years of experience as a titled safety manager
Additional Requirements
✅ Ability to work extended hours in a demanding field environment
✅ Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazardous material controls
✅ Ability to enforce safety protocols in high-risk remediation operations
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site safety operations and enforce compliance with OSHA and project-specific standards
- Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for all active work scopes
- Monitor remediation activities involving hazardous materials and environmental controls
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting records
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure safe execution of work
