Join a contractor supporting a major energy infrastructure project at an active power generation facility in Chesterfield, VA. This is a long-term opportunity providing hands-on construction safety leadership during the conversion of existing coal-fired turbine operations to natural gas.
The project includes piping removal and installation, pipe rack construction, mechanical work, heavy equipment operations, crane and rigging activities, hot work, and energy isolation within an active power generation environment.
The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while partnering with craft personnel, supervision, and project leadership to safely execute complex construction activities while maintaining compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
✔ OSHA 500 Certification
✔ OSHA 30 Construction Certification
✔ Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
⭐ Power generation, powerhouse, or energy infrastructure construction experience
⭐ Mechanical piping and pipe rack construction experience
⭐ Industrial construction or plant modification experience
⭐ Crane and rigging safety experience
⭐ Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control experience
⭐ Hot work and welding safety experience
⭐ CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction safety professional who is comfortable supporting complex mechanical and industrial construction activities within an active power generation environment.
Success in this role requires maintaining a strong field presence, understanding the hazards associated with piping, hot work, rigging, and hazardous energy, proactively identifying changing site conditions, and working effectively with craft personnel and project leadership to safely execute this long-term energy conversion project.
