About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance across a food/dairy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, proven safety management experience, and the ability to collaborate across teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.

Top Five Technical Skills of Importance

1. 5+ years of experience in Safety Management, with at least 4–5 direct reports.
2. Dairy industry or similar food manufacturing experience.
3. OSHA 10, 30, and 500 certifications.
4. Engineering knowledge/experience.
5. Demonstrated leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to evaluate compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
• Lead and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs.
• Provide project teams with guidance on health and safety regulations to ensure adherence to industry, state, and federal requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans; serve as the primary contact for incident reporting, investigations, and case management.
• Maintain accurate safety inspection logs, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure all operations comply with OSHA standards, internal policies, procedures, and best engineering practices.
• Partner with department managers to support safety personnel and compliance activities.
• Schedule and lead team safety meetings, track follow-up actions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote and enforce a safe workplace culture across all levels of the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong background in risk assessment/management.
• Knowledge of administrative policies, safety budgets, and project controls.
• Ability to manage conflict, problem-solving, and conceptual planning.
• Proven leadership and multi-tasking ability in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with time reporting systems and compliance documentation.
