Safety Technician 1 - Azle, TX

Summary/Objective 

The Safety Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.

Essential Functions 

• Monitor the removal of biological, physical or chemical hazards from a workplace
• Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures
• Advise the company’s Safety Director on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations
• Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations
• Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with guidelines
• Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be OSHA - 30 Construction Industry
• Accident Investigation Reporting (company will provide within 90 days of hired)
• DOT Reasonable Suspicion for Supervisors (company will provide within 90 days of hired)
• OSHA - Confined Space Training (company will provide within 90 days of hired)
• OSHA - Excavation and Trench Safety (company will provide within 90 days of hired)

Work Environment and Physical Demand

This job operates both in the office and onsite in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and tablets. It can involve high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that requires a range of safety and other precautions. This work can involve physical exertion such as lifting, carrying or pushing objects, at times, over 50 pounds. Must be able to wear hard hat/helmet, safety glasses, goggles, safety shoes/boots, hearing protectors, safety vest and gloves. Exposure to extreme temperatures, animals/insects, electrical hazards, confine, heights, noise, dust, irritants, and moving mechanical parts.

This role requires the individual to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. This role requires the individual to make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers often. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.

This role requires minimal travel as needed.
