Walt Churchill’s Market is looking for a Full-Time Salad Bar Lead for our Maumee, OH location.

Job Summary:

The Salad Bar Lead reports to the Produce Manager and is responsible for ensuring our Famous Salad Bar is well-stocked, organized and visually appealing to customers. The Lead will work with the Produce Manager to skillfully merchandise their products to boost sales. They provide excellent customer service in WCM's fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

This position requires availability from 7am-3pm Monday--Friday, including availability on weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties:

* Keep the Salad & Olive Bars well-stocked, visually appealing, and clean at all times

* Maintain clean and tidy work station and stock area

* Prepare items for the salad bar and follow WCM's recipes

* Innovatively come up with new ideas for the Salad Bar, keeping in mind popular seasonal items and cross merchandising

* Maintain strong vendor relationships and order from select vendors

* Regularly inventory product, date all necessary items, and properly rotate product

* Use kitchen tools such as Combi ovens and knives

* Keep a clean, tidy, and safe work area by cleaning dishes and kitchen tools, as well as following proper sanitation and food safety practices at all times

* Additional Product Department tasks may be assigned

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

* Passion for great tasting, quality foods

* Previous experience ordering from vendors

* Ability to communicate clearly

* Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers

* Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time

* Sales and merchandising skills

* Basic computer skills

* Must have weekend and holiday availability

* Should exhibit advanced knife skills

Education and Experience:

* Must be at least 18 years of age

* High School Diploma/GED

* Restaurant or food service experience is preferred

* ServSafe or Food Safety Certification, or willingness to obtain

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, reaching, and chopping

* Frequent instances of pushing and pulling product on carts

* Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds

* Ability to withstand periods of time in a produce cooler
