Sales \u0026 Service Technician\n\nJob ID: SALES013868 \nJob Title: Sales \u0026 Service Technician \nLocation: 137 HARRISON STREET, GLOVERSVILLE, NY 12078 \nUnion: IBEW 363 - CBA 318 \nHiring Manager: Gustav Valo \n# of Openings: 1 \nInternal Posting Dates: 3/10/26 - 3/17/26 \nWage Range: $25.39 - $42.40 per hour\n\nThis is a Tuesday-Saturday position\n\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS POSITION IS ACCOUNTABLE: \nInstalls maintains and/or repairs network facilities, and associated apparatus from the station equipment to the line card; performs other related duties.\n\nDuties include, but are not limited to, the following: \n\u2022 Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains voice, data, and ancillary equipment and network services. \n\u2022 Installs, maintains, and repairs outside and inside plant equipment/facilities and inside wire. \n\u2022 Effects repairs and restores service outages. Performs cable pair recovery activity. \n\u2022 Interfaces with customers to further analyze installation and repair issues. Responds and provides follow-up. \n\u2022 Interprets schematic work order drawings to determine job specifications and installation needs. Orders and/or obtains required equipment. \n\u2022 Effects problem solving where appropriate. \n\u2022 Utilizes various test equipment to analyze equipment trouble and takes appropriate maintenance action. \n\u2022 Operates standard and aerial lift vehicles and manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, electronic, gasoline, propane and power actuated tools and equipment. \n\u2022 May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. \n\u2022 Per our Company policy, and consistent with the weight specifications of equipment used to work aloft, candidates cannot exceed 275 pounds, this is inclusive of clothing and with proper footwear.\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \n\u2022 Ability to work in confined areas. \n\u2022 Ability to lift and carry toolboxes, drop wire, parts containers and installation loads, test equipment, generators, manhole/pull box covers, etc. \n\u2022 Ability to climb poles/ladders. \n\u2022 Ability to lift, set up, set up, climb, and take down ladders. \n\u2022 Ability to communicate naturally and pleasantly over the telephone and/or in person. \n\u2022 Ability to work under pressure in stressful conditions. \n\u2022 Requires alertness and attention to detail. \n\u2022 A valid driver\u0027s license. Able to meet the medical and driver certification requirements as established by the DOT Federal Highway Safety Act. Not restricted to daylight hours. \n\u2022 Able to read and interpret architectural, electrical wiring diagrams. \n\u2022 Able to operate test equipment such as VOMs, test sets, etc. \n\u2022 Indoor-outdoor work. Exposed to adverse weather conditions, dust, noise, dirt, heat, poor lighting, fumes, etc. \n\u2022 Works in buildings being constructed/renovated, manholes, rough terrain, traffic, aerial lifts, platforms, etc. \n\u2022 May be exposed to high voltage electrical power lines, explosive and/or flammable liquids and gases, oxygen deficiency, carbon monoxide, lead toxicity and asbestos materials. May work with molten lead and wax. \n\u2022 Scheduled work tours may be weekday, weekend, and holiday, including day, evening and night hours.
