Job Description - Sales Business Development

EWT is a global designer and manufacturer of gearless wind turbines, active in Europe, North America and Asia. EWT was established in 2004 and is based in the Netherlands. The company offers a broad product portfolio of onshore direct drive wind turbines. As EWT expands its presence in the United States we seek an experienced business developer who can lead our development efforts, largely focused in the lower 48 market.

PurposeAs our Business Developer you will support our US based team to develop opportunities and sell our distributed wind turbine to consumers and businesses in the Midwestern United States.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport lead generation, customer development and closing of deals in key marketsManage list of leads & opportunities across multiple states and develop them into customersGenerate outbound leads and respond to inbound leads to develop customers into opportunities and into salesDevelop meaningful relationships with potential customers to encourage trust and loyaltyVisit potential customers to pitch benefits of our wind turbine as an asset to their businessDemonstrate our wind turbine and service options to the customerAssist customers with the wind development processSupport end-customers and development partners with project development steps, interconnection, permitting, and project executionCooperate with corporate teams to answer customers questions and build sales pipelineGenerate market penetration strategies designed to achieve sales targets set by the company in key marketsHelp identify and successfully on-board development / execution partners in key regionsMaintain details of pipeline and qualified prospects through our CRM system (MS Dynamics)Support marketing efforts to generate leads through campaigns

RequirementsBachelor degree in business, marketing, environmental studies or engineeringDemonstrated ability to create opportunities and close dealsAn understanding of the wind and/or solar PV energy sector or power generationExperience with developing and/or selling projects in the C&I and/or Ag market segmentsExperience with behind the meter (BtM) energy applications and explaining the economics to the customersExperience with project development usefulComfortable with using DB software i.e., CRM to successfully manage pipelineDemonstrated proficiency in customer service including attentiveness and friendlinessStrong written and oral communication skills to professionally articulate technology and product positioning to technical and non-technical usersDemonstrated experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneouslyComfortable in dynamic atmosphere of a technical org with a rapidly expanding marketFluent in English and American CitizenshipStrong association with, and understanding of, the region and/or sectors targetedLocated in the Midwestern US area (preferably Chicago region)Ability to travel (~40% is anticipated)Ability to act independently but under instruction from Director of Sales & Marketing.Ability to travel to the Netherlands up to twice a year for meetings and training
