THE ROLE


Gibson Homewares is hiring a Sales Director to own and grow our Supermarket and Grocery retail channel. You'll manage key account relationships with national grocery retailers and partner with product development and operations to drive revenue and shelf presence.


This is a senior individual contributor and leadership role - not order-taking. You'll identify new business opportunities, negotiate and close deals, and represent Gibson at the highest level with major retail buyers across the U.S.


If you have experience in CPG sales, grocery or supermarket channel management, and a track record of exceeding quota with national accounts, we want to hear from you.


WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Own and grow a portfolio of national supermarket and grocery retail accounts across the U.S.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers and category managers

  • Deliver compelling, data-driven sales presentations that expand shelf assortment and win new placements

  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, presentations, product selection, pricing, negotiation, and close

  • Collaborate with independent manufacturer rep partners to align strategy and drive accountability

  • Work cross-functionally with sales operations, marketing, and product development teams

  • Attend trade shows, key account visits, and overseas factory trips (~50–70 travel days/year)

  • Provide competitive and market intelligence back to internal teams to inform product and go-to-market strategy


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


Required:



  • 5+ years of CPG or consumer goods sales experience selling into U.S. national retailers

  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales quotas and closing large accounts

  • Experience managing key accounts and buyer relationships at national grocery or supermarket chains

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage external rep networks

  • Los Angeles-based and available to work in-office


Nice to Have:



  • Direct experience in the supermarket or grocery channel

  • Background in Housewares (cookware, bakeware, cutlery, kitchen tools) or Tabletop (dinnerware, glassware, serveware)

  • Familiarity with trade spend, category management, or planogram strategy

  • Existing relationships with grocery retail buyers
