Job Description - Sales Director - Metropolitan District

## \n\nEaton Corporation\u2019s North America Electrical Sales Division is currently hiring for a District Sales Director \u2013 Metropolitan District. This position will be based in either Mountainside, New Jersey or New York, NY\n\nThe primary function of a District Sales Director is to direct all sales activities to achieve performance goals in accordance with marketing and sales plans. This position requires coaching, directing and training sales professionals in their respective assignments to succeed at managing and developing their customer base, leveraging internal and external sales resources, driving products and the channel to market in order to achieve market share gains, support price attainment goals and support strategic initiatives throughout the district.\n\n \nIn this position you will: \n\u2022 Establish new and build on existing relationships with key customers and distributers to enhance sales volume and customer service \n\u2022 Plan, direct, and drive the sales resources to assure that adequate coverage is applied to accounts \n\u2022 Understand competitors produces, tactics, strategy, pricing, and their competitive position in the district \n\u2022 Plan and manage the sales to assure that adequate coverage is applied to accounts \n\u2022 Create strategic plans as well as become responsible to implement product line initiatives and product launches \n\u2022 Build close relationships with key customer and distributors to enhance sales volume \n\u2022 Understand electrical products and their competitive position within the district \n\u2022 Identify, analyze, select, and continuously improve the districts various channels to market \n\u2022 Recruit, hire, train, develop, and continuously improve organizational capabilities of sales personnel\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in electrical sales. \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales management positions. \n\u2022 Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship \n\u2022 Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver\u2019s license \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans; F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability etc \n\u2022 Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 30 mile radius of Mountainside, NJ or New York, NY will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 MBA or master\u2019s degree \n\u2022 Sales experience with Power Distribution products \n\u2022 Experience managing direct sales personnel \n\u2022 Product line marketing and/or operational experience\n\n## \n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Market knowledge \n\u2022 Knowledge of electrical products and distribution channels \n\u2022 Strategic planning and profit planning experience \n\u2022 Knowledge of sales techniques, customers, customer relations, and personnel development \n\u2022 Strong professional presence and communication style \n\u2022 Experience of setting aggressive sales plans and achieving ambitious targets and stretch goals \n\u2022 Ability and demonstrated experience to identify existing and future growth market opportunities and tailor strategic sales plan and resources to maximize Eaton\u2019s top-line and market share position \n\u2022 Ability to establish rigor, consistency, and a business cadence that drives the team forward and achieves results, even in times of challenging market conditions. Capability to synthesize information and leverage data-driven arguments to make and guide informed decisions \n\u2022 Strong customer orientation and focus. Ability to work with all levels of the customer organizations to sell and support products as well as to understand the customer\u2019s current and future business needs \n\u2022 Negotiation skills and expertise; ability to cope with ambiguity, and successfully resolve problems and manage conflict, navigating resistance and developing buy-in\\ \n\u2022 Technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the Utility segment \n\u2022 Ability to influence without authority, in a matrix environment \n\u2022 Experience and ability to assessing, selecting, developing, motivating, and energizing a diverse team in critical areas of sales planning, negotiation, and customer pursuit.
