Sales Engineer

Description

The Sales Engineer provides engineering support and services for current products, new product development, manufacturing, quality and aspects related to them. Coordinates with electrical engineers and technicians who design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies principles and techniques of mechanical engineering to accomplish goals. Coordinates projects with other technical teams and vendors to ensure engineering projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Monitors project deliverables, timelines, and milestones to increase efficiency, production quality, and volume.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Work on application of existing products to customer machines.

· Work assignments come through the Senior Sales Engineer.

· Use Sy-Klone CAD resources to apply products using customer specifications to ensure proper form, fit and function of Sy-Klone devices to customer machines.

· Design for manufacturing.

· Travel to customer sites to oversee installation as needed.

· Write product installation instructions.

· Maintain part number database.

· Develop bill of materials.

· Produce finished drawings. 

· Participate in any aspect of the APQP process including:

· DFEMA

· PEFMA

· PPAP

· Control Plan development

· Product testing in the lab or in the field.

· Work with machine manufacturer’s engineering department on application projects.

· Write work instructions and train production personnel in work instructions.

· Work on prototype projects.

· Produce product designs and technical drawings for precleaner components and assemblies, utilizing solid modeling CAD software.

· Design components to be manufactured using various casting, injection molded and rapid prototype processes.

· Help organize department for annual ISO 9001 auditing and accreditation processes.

· Responsible for resolving technical calls from customers.

· Provide customer training as necessary. 

· Quality Commitment – Individually and as a team member support Sy-Klone’s mission statement and vision, with a daily focus on compliance to Sy-Klone systems, policies and procedures, supported by a continuous quality and process improvement mindset.

· Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required Skills:

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.

· Ability to present application ideas via power point effectively.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a four-year college or university required.

· A minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training.

· Excellent working knowledge of modern engineering mathematics.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· At times may need to work in an Industrial warehouse environment with varying work levels and uneven surface areas.

· Must be able to lift up to 20lbs at times.

· Normal auditory, visual acuity including depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulatory ability and dexterity.
