About the Role
The Sales Lot Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance, organization, and readiness of the dealership’s new and used vehicle inventory. This role ensures vehicles are clean, properly staged, fueled, accessible, and presentable for customers and the sales team. The porter plays a key part in creating a professional dealership environment and supporting smooth daily sales operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain the dealership’s vehicle lot in a clean, organized, and professional condition.
- Move and park vehicles as directed by Sales Managers in accordance with dealership display standards.
- Ensure all vehicles have adequate fuel for test drives and demonstrations.
- Open all display vehicles each morning and secure/lock all vehicles at the end of the day.
- Routinely check vehicle batteries and charge when necessary.
- Assist with moving vehicles to and from offsite sales events or secondary locations.
- Ensure all display inventory remains clean and presentable at all times.
- Report any vehicle damage or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
- Support the sales team with vehicle staging, preparation, and customer delivery as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and good judgment.
- Professional, neat appearance.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions consistently.
Working Conditions
- Physically demanding role requiring standing for 6–8 hours per day.
- Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and handling of materials.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors
- Exposure to noise, vehicle exhaust, vibrations, dust
