Sales Manager

Transwest, one of the premier automotive retailers in the Sterling area, has an opening for a highly motivated Automotive Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly successful Sales Manager looking to make an immediate impact. The Sales Manager will be responsible for working the sales floor, in addition to leading the sales team. Candidate(s) must have a proven track record of success, expert deal closing abilities, good reputation, inventory management experience, and exceptional training and leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate marketing and sales of new and pre-owned vehicles.
• Assume responsibility for customer retention and profitability in the Retail Sales Department.
• Effective time management, knowledge of market potential, and performance standards.
• Hire, train and manage sales staff.
• Understand dealership policies, procedures, and sales systems.
• Set standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining inventory.
• Ensure we remain competitive in the market.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
• Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
• Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Climbing in and out of vehicles.
• Occasional stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 45 lbs.
• Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing
• Motivated individual who can work independently
• Familiarity with all aspects of gas and diesel truck repair and maintenance including engine repair, transmission repair, drivability and electrical diagnostics, suspension, brake systems, etc
• Must possess a complete set of hand tools with rollaway toolbox
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• The ability to display attention to detail
• Ability to successfully complete a general abilities assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen

• Type: Salary + Commission
• Compensation Range: $75,000 - $100,000 + Commission
• Reports To: General Manager
• Shift: 1st
