Job Description - Sales Manager

Family-owned, local and committed to you. Ferguson roofing grew as a family business for 3 generations. Specializing in residential and commercial roofing and have expanded in exterior work, including siding, soffit/fascia, and gutters. The founder’s values were to provide honest estimates, do quality work at a fair price, and provide exceptional customer service with warranties that you could rely on.  The recent partnership with Hoffmann Brothers ushers in a new stewardship to Ferguson Roofing & Exteriors. We build more than roofs, we build relationships.

As the Sales Manager at Ferguson Roofing and Exteriors, over $20 million dollars of revenue will fall beneath your umbrella of responsibility. You will be accountable for the sales of our residential roofing, residential exteriors, commercial roofing and HOA business units. Successful outcomes will be attained by working with Project Managers and salespeople through KPI-driven feedback, coordinating 1-on-1’s, preparing review materials, performing jobsite training, and facilitating group meetings. Coordination and cooperation with the other business leaders will be critical to your success. You will also be responsible for support on our advanced CRM tool - maintaining up-to-date prices and coaching on proper price book usage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Roofing Sales Professionals in a high growth and rapidly changing company
  • Review and prepare feedback for Project Managers using sales data, technician feedback, KPI’s, and sales process accountability
  • Assist each individual Project Manager and help them to achieve their goals, both personal and professional
  • Help edit and maintain price book in company CRM
  • Coordinate daily with installation departments to provide open lines of communication for Project Manager feedback, installation feedback and job scheduling
  • Drive strategy of lead generation, balancing marketing spend with self generated lead methods
  • Build out and lead a new canvassing team to drive incremental leads
  • Coordinate and/or conduct technical training
  • The individual that takes on this role does not need to be a technical expert, but instead can utilize the internal and external technical resources for training Project Managers
  • Resolve customer concerns that require management involvement
  • Nexstar Sales Process Training through field training and sales meetings
  • You will be thoroughly trained in our in-home sales process to hold Project Managers accountable to these processes
  • Help with equipment vendor discussions & negotiations
  • Recruitment and retention through building a strong culture of teamwork within the sales department
  • Investigate and implement industry best practices including training, sales process, KPIs, and technology

Direct Reports:

  • (6-8) Residential Sales Professionals
  • (2-3) Commercial/HOA Sales Professionals
  • (TBD) Canvassing Team

Reports to the Director of Sales

  • Roofing industry experience not required, but valued
  • Proven track record in management experience, 1-3 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to inspire and lead others to achieve goals
  • Good presentation skills; able to convey confident and decisive messages
  • Multi-tasker who enjoys working with diverse teams on varied projects
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
  • Selfless individual who can prioritize the needs of the team above individual needs
  • Passionate about Ferguson Roofing and loves the brand
  • High integrity with advanced communication skills and ability to make solid connections
  • Strong desire to motivate team members to be better tomorrow than they are today
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is flexible and has a great attitude on life

Battle Rhythm (regular, reoccurring responsibilities)

  • Bi-weekly 1 on 1s with all direct reporting employees
  • Weekly 1 on 1s with Director of Enterprise Sales to go over previous week key points/next week’s opportunities to win
  • Regular Project Manager “ride alongs” (6-8 sales calls in the field per week)
  • Monthly sales meeting/training
  • Monthly attendance of HR management update meetings
  • Starting: Base Salary + Bonus Structure (Profitability / Growth)
