Job Description - Sales Manager



Job Summary:


We are seeking a seasoned Sales Manager for Toyota Milpitas who can lead from the front — coaching, mentoring, and developing a high-performing sales team.


The ideal candidate will be:




  • Highly proficient in gross profitability




  • Skilled in managing high-volume operations




  • Focused on daily execution, accountability, and performance




  • Actively engaged in the CRM, making calls and driving follow-up




  • Process-driven, with the ability to create and implement systems that elevate the entire sales department




This role requires a leader who is hands-on — someone who emphasizes phone activity, appointment setting, follow-up, and consistent coaching to ensure the department operates at the highest level every day.


We are a 300+ unit Toyota store, currently ranked Top 10 in the Bay Area, with tremendous traffic and significant room for continued growth. This is a strong opportunity for the right leader to make an immediate impact.


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Bilingual (preferred but not required)




  • Proven track record of success as a Sales Manager




  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds




  • Strong leadership, accountability, and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the sales department, including budgeting, forecasting, and setting sales goals.
- Lead and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Ensure all sales processes and procedures are followed in compliance with dealership policies and regulations.
- Train and develop sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Resolve customer issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to inform sales strategies.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training new sales team members.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of our products and services to effectively sell to customers.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive sales.
- Previous experience in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of automotive sales processes and finance and insurance (F&I) procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
