Job Description - Sales Manager

The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue and maximizing sales opportunities at one of our stunning properties. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and collaborating with various departments within the hotel to ensure a seamless guest experience. As a member of the sales team, the Sales Manager will actively seek new business opportunities and manage existing accounts, ensuring the highest standards of customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Responsible for the development and implementation of the hotel sales plan, encompassing direct sales calls, telesales, research, appointment making, and taking part in promotional campaigns, client familiarization visits, and contract negotiation. · Drive and coordinate all sales activity to maximize revenue from existing accounts at the hotel level, national, and international levels. · To ensure all sales activities undertaken are in line with the agreed expense budget. · To agree annual personal business objectives for each direct report and to set and review monthly objectives (Local, National, and International accounts) · To arrange own sales appointments and action professional follow-up accordingly. · Investigate new areas of business in terms of market development into new territories and market segments to quantifiable targets. · To carry out market penetration strategies with existing accounts to develop and improve upon them to a measured quantifiable target. · To participate in forecasting the hotel business mix, revenues, and control mechanisms, including the annual budget and sales and marketing plan compilation. · To regularly meet with the Director of Sales/GM to communicate customer feedback, problems encountered, sales information, competitor knowledge, pricing strategies, product changes, distributions via GDS, and environmental influences that may affect the business. · To formally meet with the Director of Sales/GM and be fully up to date with actual/forecast/budgeted volumes, revenues, and occupancies.

· To attend and participate in hotel sales meetings, national and international Millennium and Copthorne sales meetings. · To be responsible for own data collection, administration, and use of computer software to foster efficient and effective sales practices. · To react to integrated promotional campaigns such as direct mail and advertising, and to seek out prospective and susceptible clients for the hotel. · To maintain team communication through regular contact and team meetings. · To ensure the presentation of all sales and marketing advertising material reflects the image of the hotel and group and is compatible with the market segment to which it is directed. · To provide accurate management reports to ensure information relating to customer requirements, interests, market activities, and personal activity is kept up to date through the use of the M&C account management system. · To undertake all networking activity for existing and prospect accounts where requested, · To project a positive attitude when communicating the hotel image, in sales presentations, internal and external meetings, and community activities, · To identify cross-selling opportunities for the group and ensure the necessary follow-up. · To complete tele sales, appointments, and familiarization trips as targeted. · To review and monitor hotel pricing positioning on GDS and other internet distribution channels. · Attend/organize/run trade show fairs and represent the hotel at industry-related events as required · To comply with reasonable instructions as requested by Management. · To champion the hotel’s rate loading process and to ensure regular audits are undertaken for all key accounts. · To champion the hotel’s RFP process and rate negotiations according to rate structure and guidelines. · To inform your Line Manager/DOS of the weekly call schedule, allocation of time, annual leave, and lieu days. · To liaise with all departments as necessary to maximize revenue and communicate any sales-related information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales, with a proven track record of success in generating revenue.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to engage with clients effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software; experience with hotel sales systems is a plus.
