Job Description - Sales Representative

Harcros Chemicals is an employee-owned chemical manufacturing and distribution company headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, with over a century of industry experience. With operations across North America and a nationwide distribution network, we deliver reliable, high-quality chemical solutions to customers worldwide across industries including water treatment, agriculture, oil and gas, personal care, and more. Safety, sustainability, and exceptional service are at the core of everything we do. 

Harcros Chemicals is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to drive sales growth and build strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for promoting and selling company products and services, identifying new business opportunities, processing customer orders, and supporting overall sales and profitability goals.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, organized, and skilled at developing customer partnerships while collaborating with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and support business growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain relationships with commercial and industrial customers to promote and sell company products and services.

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, pricing, and sales opportunities to support business growth and profitability.

  • Process customer orders, maintain sales records, and prepare sales contracts and related documentation.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting customer retention and satisfaction.

  • Communicate product updates, resolve customer concerns, and provide ongoing customer support.

  • Support sales promotions, marketing initiatives, and product display activities.

  • Collaborate with the District Manager and internal teams to achieve sales and operational goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Marketing or other related science or field.

  • 1-3 years of B2B sales experience and/or training preferred.

  • CRM experience preferred.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License Required.

Required Skills

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.

  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to perform basic business-related mathematical calculations.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
