Sales Representative - Northern CA Region

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for:

• Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and serving as an example of living our Producers Dairy Core Values & Purpose.


• Responsible for growing net income by getting more SKUs into more DCs and geographies, and growing velocity and attendant market share within existing stores with existing SKUs. ASTEC – additional sales to existing customers.


• Driving revenue growth within assigned sales territory by maximizing sales strategy to grow brand/product revenue, market share, and profit.


• Identifying and acting on selling opportunities, responding to competitor activities, maintaining and increasing space, making secondary placements, gaining extra displays, making effective sales presentations and making effective use of sales data through database systems such as Salient and other tools.


• Prospecting for potential new customers and turning this into increased business.


• Developing and maintaining the marketplace.


• Meeting potential new customers by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.


• Effectively communicating with Sales Manager regarding accounts, competition, business opportunities and business developments.


• Creating rapport with appropriate customer team members on all accounts, communicating with them during service calls, responding to customer requests and maintaining relationships with customers to support selling activities.


• Reviews market research to anticipate competition and market trends and translate consumer attitudes into new branding directions.


• Helps to develop and supports overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.


• Adhering to route scheduling protocol, properly ordering authorized product, maintaining proper inventory, setting stores to schematic, managing out of stocks, communicating to customers or manager about service matters, executing promotional displays and properly handling paperwork.


• Assist in the management and control of company assets, including but not limited to, cases, pallets and carts.


• Conducting activities in a safe manner, following company safety guidelines and requirements and proactively addresses any unsafe conditions observed.


• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum:

•   High School Diploma or GED.


•   4 year degree or equivalent work experience.


•   Strong knowledge of sales and marketing principals.


•   Knowledge of grocery industry and product placement techniques for effective product sales.


•   Continuous improvement mindset.


•   Ability to motivate and influence.


•   Strong customer focus.


•   Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees.


•   Experience with handheld computers and other store receiving platforms.


•   Proficient in use of MS Office Suite.


•   Ability to establish successful working relationships with community and industry representatives.         

Preferred:

•    Bilingual English/Spanish.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 DOE

Central Region: Redding, CA to Modesto, CA

*Drive Test and equipment competency will need to be preformed before offer of employment.
