Sales - Summer Intern - Urgent Role

Lamons is seeking undergraduate students for a paid summer work/internship position(s). The 12-week program is designed to provide the intern with a basic knowledge and understanding of the various departments and services that Lamons provides both internally and externally. The Interns will work closely within a specific department, and with a wide range of individuals during your summer internship with Lamons.  We are excited to be able to continue this program at Lamons, and each intern will work on a specific project during their time this summer.  If you are a motivated individual who is driven and willing to learn, we want you to participate in the candidate pool of interns!Job SummaryThis position will assist the Sales team in the overall sales process, work closely with the Houston Inside Sales department, and cross function with IT to convert sales orders and look for effective ways to automate. The intern will also be introduced to various customer meetings to actively participate in improving B2B portal.Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting market analysis to identify profitable opportunities in terms of inorganic growth and create comparisons to similar organizations in the industry.

• Understand the steps required to take EDI orders and assist in entering the data and converting it into sales.
•  Assist in on-going project to review and organize master data including bill-to & ship to addresses into a more concise theme.
• Assist in the creation of Tableau based dashboards that will be used as an efficient tool for management and Inside Sales.
• Provide reports and assist with NCR’s, quotations, hit rates percentage that will help measure and identify ways for improvement.
• Increased involvement throughout the internship in presenting new tools to the sales team via zoom.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Business Management, Management Information Systems or a related field.

Work Experience

• Previous internships a plus, but not required.
• Some sales experience as a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation

• Compensation for this position will be $25/hour.
