Job Description - Sales Tax Associate

MMR Accounting Department

Position: Sales Tax Associate
Full or Part Time: Full Time
Degree(s): Bachelors in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field (preferred, but not required) or equivalent five plus years work experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or sales tax.
Timeframe: Immediate opening
Pay: To be determined upon experience level

Job Description:
MMR is seeking candidates with a degree in accounting, finance, or industry related equivalent. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:

Analyze expenditures and purchase (Accounts Payable) for use tax compliance.
Analyze customer invoices (Accounts Receivable) for sales tax compliance.
Submit Tax Returns (State and Local Jurisdictions)
Monitor tax code and rate changes across multiple jurisdictions.
Maintain accurate and up to date records (document control).
Researching tax issues and completing tax audits (State and Local Sales Tax Audits)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Direct sales tax experience is preferred, but not required
Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
Working knowledge of MS Office software, specifically Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Regular and reliable attendance at work
