Job Summary:
The Sanitation Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and food & beverage facilities. This role ensures that all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored. The Sanitation Attendant plays a vital role in supporting the culinary and service teams by maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, kitchen surfaces, and food preparation areas.
Follow proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including HACCP and hotel sanitation policies.
Equipment & Inventory Maintenance:
Store cleaned items in their designated areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Inspect and maintain dishwashing machines and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
Kitchen & Food Preparation Support:
Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when needed.
Support functions and catering events by ensuring all service items are cleaned and available.
Ensure kitchen floors are dry and free from hazards to prevent slips and falls.
Teamwork & Collaboration:
Work closely with the kitchen, restaurant, and bar teams to ensure seamless operations.
Follow instructions from the Sanitation Manager and Management Team.
Assist with deep-cleaning tasks as assigned, including exhaust hoods, ovens, and storage areas.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous experience as a Sanitation Attendant, dishwasher, or kitchen cleaner in a hotel or restaurant is preferred.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
