Job Summary:

The Sanitation Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and food & beverage facilities. This role ensures that all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored. The Sanitation Attendant plays a vital role in supporting the culinary and service teams by maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation:

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.


• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, kitchen surfaces, and food preparation areas.


• Follow proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including HACCP and hotel sanitation policies.

Equipment & Inventory Maintenance:

• Store cleaned items in their designated areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations.


• Inspect and maintain dishwashing machines and other kitchen cleaning equipment.


• Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the supervisor.


• Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.

Kitchen & Food Preparation Support:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when needed.


• Support functions and catering events by ensuring all service items are cleaned and available.


• Ensure kitchen floors are dry and free from hazards to prevent slips and falls.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

• Work closely with the kitchen, restaurant, and bar teams to ensure seamless operations.


• Follow instructions from the Sanitation Manager and Management Team.


• Assist with deep-cleaning tasks as assigned, including exhaust hoods, ovens, and storage areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sanitation Attendant, dishwasher, or kitchen cleaner in a hotel or restaurant is preferred.


• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.


• Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
