Job Description: 

To keep all production and receiving areas clean by cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, utensils, and the general facility maintaining the areas in accordance with approved quality and sanitation procedures.

Sanitation Responsibilities:

• Cleaning the facility and equipment in proper sequence and in a timely manner enabling pre-op inspections and set up to begin on time.
• Validate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and coordinate with Quality Assurance for inspection.
• Utilize chemicals and cleaning agents to clean and sanitize processing area walls, floor, and equipment.
• Utilize refuse and sanitation tools in a proper and safe manner.
• Removal of debris from processing area.
• Verify the adequacy of cleaning and sanitation performed on areas and equipment and complete and sign off on appropriate forms.
• Document actions taken in response to unsatisfactory observations on Equipment, Utensils, and Process Area conditions.
• Complete testing when applicable.
• Works with team members to effectively complete all cleaning job tasks in a timely manner.
• Ensure cleanliness of all surfaces to meet plant standards.
• Must adhere to all corporate GMP’s, established SOP’s, and all Food Safety policies.
• Preparing cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Take full ownership of assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintain active working knowledge of all sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous sanitation and/or janitorial experience or familiarity with cleaning manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of operation and deployment of sanitation equipment, chemicals, tools, and materials.
• Attention to Detail is a must.
• Must be able to work without supervision.
