Job Description - Sanitation Supervisor

Description

SUMMARY: The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee the Sanitation Associates to ensure they are fully resourced and adhere to processes necessary for completing all sanitation requirements, compliance with all food safety requirements, and adherence to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices). The employee follows all quality, efficiency, and safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Keep the staging area and warehouse floors clean.
  • Keep the back dock, front entrance, and patio grounds clean and sanitary when weather permits.
  • Ensure that all production equipment and surrounding areas pass microbiological testing.
  • Inspect parts and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
  • Responsible for performing job duties in compliance with all GMPs and following all company safety standards.
  • Oversees employee productivity, implements and supports GMPs, including documented training on the proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Leads team with a positive and supportive attitude to minimize turnover and ensure a reliable and agile labor force.
  • Uses clear and effective communication to relate needs to team members. 
  • Effectively delegates all sanitation tasks to Sanitation Associates to ensure operations are conducted promptly and efficiently. 
  • Analyze and adjust Team schedules as needed.
  • Fills the demands of day-to-day operations by stepping in and filling in for different roles when needed and completing other tasks as assigned. 
  • Develop sanitation-specific policies and work with Sanitation Associates to implement them. 
  • Update and implement chemical control plans to monitor and control hazardous chemicals within the plant safely. 
  • Monitor and document ratios/dilutions to ensure that chemicals are safe and effective. 
  • Order and track equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous cleaning operations within the plant. 
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for addressing deficiencies in the sanitation process. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of related experience required
  • Previous Supervision experience preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: None required

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical principles used in the food industry. 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Equipment maintenance, electrical knowledge, and general plant maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here represent those employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  

RATE OF PAY:  $29.00 per hour + DOE.
