SAS Administrator

SAS platform administrator is responsible for installation/configuration and administration of the SAS EBI, SAS OA, SAS VA, and SAS Viya. SAS administrator serves as liaison between the SAS Developers and enterprise infrastructure support teams to ensure appropriate delivery of technology solutions (performance tuning, backups, disaster recovery, user support, training, and documentation) in accordance with business requirements and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the overall health of the SAS platform.




• Perform new installation as necessary.




• Applies maintenance releases, upgrades and hot fixes as required.




• Designs, implements, and maintains platform security via SAS Metadata and Linux/Windows.




• Performs platform capacity planning and management.




• Executing change control and promotions activities.




• Establishes best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform.




• Global point of contact for all SAS Administrator related projects and activities.




• Own and drive the SAS Product patching and release upgrade activity




• Manage and track SAS products inventory and license updates for SAS servers and end users.




• Provide all levels of technical and application support; incident management (Level 1, 2 and 3); address user, application, and data issues.




• Monitor usage logs to assist in performance tuning of the systems and servers.




• Manage the configuration support and maintenance of the SAS platform.

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or Engineering

Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience (mid level)

Knowledge:

• Proven experience as a SAS Administrator on the distributed environment




• Experience with the installation and maintenance of SAS in complex environments such as High Availability (multiple machines, multi-tiered environment), SAS Grid computing, Hadoop, and In-memory processing.




• Experience with SAS Visual Analytics administration.




• SAS Certified Platform Administrator Certification or equivalent




• Good knowledge of Linux/RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration




• Infrastructure (server and database) and network proficiency.




• Detailed knowledge of SAS platform security, performance, server design, cross-platform architecture, system backup, recovery, and storage administration.




• Familiar with Base and Macro SAS programming




• Proficient with Linux shell scripting.




• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms




• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude




• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills




• Good to have operational experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
