The Sauté Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using sauté techniques, ensuring high-quality and timely execution in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role requires advanced culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain efficiency during busy service hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook menu items requiring sauté techniques, including sauces, proteins, pastas, and vegetables, following standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
• Operate sauté station equipment, including burners, sauté pans, and utensils, ensuring proper temperatures and cooking methods.
• Set up and stock the sauté station with necessary ingredients, supplies, and equipment before service begins.
• Maintain consistency and quality in flavor, presentation, and portion sizes for all dishes.
• Manage multiple orders simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness during peak service hours.
• Monitor and maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders and accommodate special requests.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the sauté station and equipment, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist with prep work, restocking, and supporting other kitchen stations as needed.
• Contribute to menu development and recommend new sauté dishes or techniques.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of proven experience as a Sauté Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant kitchen.
• Expertise in sauté cooking techniques, including timing, flavor balancing, and heat control.
• Knowledge of food preparation, storage, and sanitation practices; food safety certification preferred.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills to handle high-volume orders efficiently.
• Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy items.
