Saw /Shear Operator

Cuts Material to specified lengths on an AMD 1000Ton Shear to meet internal and customer requirements and specifications.

· Cuts materials to specified lengths using AMD 1000 Ton Shear.

· Replaces shear blades when worn or defective and keeps accurate inventory of ready to use shear blades.

· Transports material to shear using overhead crane.

· Operates overhead crane to load and unload trucks and to move material within the storage yard as necessary.

· Maintains records of steel availability at all times. Checks total steel weight against cut steel weight. Receives weekly production and daily press schedule to ensure availability of required steel.

· Maintain an inventory of cut steel.

· Maintains and assigns proper boxes and storage area for cut steel.

· Re-enters into inventory all unused cut steel.

· Maintains steel yard and work area in a clean and orderly condition at all times.

· Follows all safety procedures and precautions.

· Able to use various hand tools, operate overhead crane, AMD 1000 Ton Shear, shear blades, scales, inventory tags
