We are looking for a SBA Loan Underwriter responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:

• Reviewing and monitoring commercial and/or real estate loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to approval conditions.
• Following up with customers to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources.
• May work with attorneys, the SBA, USDA, and financial or other legal resources to obtain correct and accurate documents to fully protect the financial institution's interests in the credit relationship.
• Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating financial and related data to determine the creditworthiness of loan prospects, the merit of the request, and SBA/USDA eligibility.
• Preparing high-quality, detailed credit approval documents that contain an in-depth analysis and an understanding and identification of credit issues and risks.
• Preparing loan requests within established timelines in accordance with AFCU Loan Policy and procedures.
• Consulting with the SBA Department Manager and CCO to recommend proper loan structuring that limits the risk to the Credit Union.

Specific qualifications for the position include:

• 5 years of SBA loan underwriting or commercial loan underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of SBA and USDA policies and regulations.
• Advanced credit and credit quality skills including accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis experience.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
