Job Description - SBA Program Manager

ROLE


The SBA Program Manager is responsible for serving as the primary liaison between Peoples Bank and Trust Company, the Borrower, Primary Lender, U.S. Small Business Administration, and other third-party service providers to support and grow the SBA program.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 


This position is responsible for the following functions:



  • Develop, support, and enhance the SBA loan program

  • Promote the SBA loan program with internal and external outreach

  • Collaborate with Loan Officers and Underwriters to ensure SBA loan packages are prepared and closed in compliance with SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

  • Assist with origination, documentation, and monitoring of SBA loans

  • Manage all technical projects related to the SBA loan program

  • Ensure accurate records are maintained in customer files including lien perfections

  • Maintain awareness of SBA regulations affecting loan documentation and perfection of collateral

  • Conduct site visits as needed


 


Various other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Full knowledge of loan services offered by Peoples Bank and Trust, understanding of all PBT policies and procedures related to loan services and compliance, knowledge of reports required to maintain and track outstanding loans, knowledge of all Federal, State and regulatory banking compliance laws



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3+ years of loan processing experience required; Customer service, accounting, and reading financials preferred


SKILLS/ABILITIES: Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, self-management, problem-solving, organized, analytical, interpersonal, customer relationship building, time management, computer literacy, strong ability to multi-task


 


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION


TALKING: 
Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly


AVERAGE HEARING: 
Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment around other customers and bank personnel


REPETITIVE MOTION: 
The employee is regularly required to type throughout the day


FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use hands to type and maneuver a mouse


AVERAGE VISION:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eyeglasses/contacts)


PHYSICAL STRENGTH: 
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time



WORKING CONDITIONS


General professional office environment with climate control. Adequate lighting. Occasional additional hours outside of regular bank service hours to complete tasks.



MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.


MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Strong numeric capabilities; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.


LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
