The Preschool Administrative Assistant supports the Preschool Director by providing strong administrative, customer service, and operational support to ensure the preschool runs smoothly each day. This role serves as the welcoming face of the preschool, helping create a warm, organized, and Christ-centered environment for families, students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include communication, enrollment support, scheduling, recordkeeping, and event support, while remaining flexible to serve wherever needed—including classroom assistance, cleaning, and evening or weekend events. Consistently reflects God’s love in every interaction, serving as a positive influence on staff, students, and families for Christ, while fully embodying the Sunlight Way in all areas of responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership
Model Christ-like character and reflect God’s love in all interactions.
Support the mission of Christian education through daily service and communication.
Front Office & Customer Service
Serve as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and prospective families.
Provide excellent customer service in-person, by phone, and through email.
Assist with student check-in/check-out and parent communication.
Administrative & Operational Support
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Preschool Director and staff.
Maintain student files, attendance records, and documentation for compliance.
Assist with scheduling, classroom coverage needs, supply ordering, and daily organization.
Support enrollment processes including inquiries, tours, and onboarding.
Marketing & Community Outreach
Assist with promotional communication, flyers, social media support, and outreach initiatives.
Help strengthen community engagement and support growth opportunities.
Event & Campus Support
Assist with planning and supporting school events, including evening/weekend programs as needed.
Willingly support in classrooms, assist with supervision, and help with cleaning or campus preparation when required.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Spiritual Commitment
A committed Christian who regularly attends church and actively lives out their faith.
Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus through prayer, scripture, and fellowship.
Skills and Attributes
Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional, positive, and flexible team player with a servant’s heart.
Able to maintain confidentiality and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic technology skills required; marketing experience is a plus.
Work Experience
Administrative, customer service, or school-based experience preferred.
Preschool or childcare setting experience strongly preferred.
Educational Credentials
High School Diploma required; additional education preferred.
45 hours of DCF training required (or willingness to complete).
Willingness to obtain a Florida Director’s Credential within an established timeframe.
CPR/First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain).
