Description

The Full-Time Scheduler position is responsible for all scheduling functions of the agency, communication

with patients and employees, and other administrative functions as assigned.

Care Plus Homehealth Care is dedicated to providing the care our patients need to recover in the comfort

and privacy of their own home. We are excited to bring new ownership to Care Plus Homehealth Care, LLC in

Anderson, Indiana. Through the partnership of Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. and BHI Senior Living, Inc.,

we share in our mission to deliver high-quality home healthcare services. Our foundation is built on

Proudly serving 19 counties in Indiana, we are a preferred provider for the BHI, Inc. Communities in Carmel,

Indianapolis, and Zionsville. We offer skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech

therapy to patients in the comfort of their homes. Additionally, we provide private duty services in the home

through our Personal Assistant Program, which is billed at a private pay hourly rate. We are a Medicare

participating provider as well as a Medicaid participating provider, accepting Home and Community-Based

Service Waivers and PA.

Position Summary

The scheduler is responsible for coordinating the staffing schedule and ensuring appropriate coverage to

meet the needs of the patients, while maintaining regulatory compliance and optimizing efficiency. This

position helps to ensure the smooth operation of the agency through managing scheduling and staffing.

Performs clerical and scheduling activities that facilitate Agency operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains schedule for services requested and provided to agency patients.

     a. Assures that cases are filled within established time frames.

     b. Provides appropriate notification of schedule to employee, patient, contract agency, supervisor, and others as appropriate.   

     c. Assigns staff to patients.

     d. Creates patient calendars and employee calendars.

     e. Reviews schedule with both the employee and the patient.

2. Communicate all call-offs, no-call/no-shows, and paid time off (vacation coverage) to the Administrators and DON to discuss    possible coverage.

  a. Submit time-off request form for review and approval by supervisor.

  b. Once approved, find coverage.

  c. Notify patient and employee of schedule change and or POA/Responsible Party.

  d. Report unstaffed hours to the Director of Nursing and Admin.

3. Responsible to find coverage for all uncovered shifts, including call offs. Report unstaffed hours to the DON and Administrators immediately.

4. Responsible for on call phone Monday-Thursday, and on rotating weekends.

5. Responsible to complete patient satisfaction surveys to determine patient’s satisfaction with our services.

6. Participates in determining hiring needs.

7. Meets with DON and Administrators to anticipate needed coverage (new patients’ increased needs).

8. Assist with greeting all visitors and directs them to the appropriate person.

9. Assists with answering incoming calls in a pleasant and proper manner and directs them to the appropriate person.

10. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Administrators and/or Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in staff scheduling or relevant experience, preferably in home health care.
  • Must have strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be precise, detail-oriented, and able to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to take calls after hours for urgent staffing situations.
  • Demonstrates strong telephone skills and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
