  The responsibilities of the Scheduler include: 

• The scheduler will be responsible for staffing the nursing department. 
• The Scheduler expected shift will be from 7am - 3pm and will be expected to assist on a unit if/ when the need arises (if applicable). 
• Fulfilling staff vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
• Maintaining a meticulous attendance record of all call-ins and tardies. Addressing attendance issues within Hooverwood guidelines.
• Checking timeclock punches in a timely manner and making the appropriate adjustments. 
• Effectively communicating with the Director of Nursing, Staff Development Nurse, Human Resources, and Administrator regarding all new hires' scheduled orientation dates. 
• Making sure that the nursing staff understands all scheduling policies and procedures.
• Keeping track of all nursing licenses.
• Making sure that any pick-up/ shift bonuses are tracked daily and reported to the Director of Nursing by the second Tuesday of the pay period.
• Any other tasks assigned by Nursing Administration/Administration. 

Requirements

 The Scheduler:

• Must have a high school diploma, some college preferred
• Experience with OnShift scheduling preferred
• Must have previous experience as a scheduler. 
• Must have previous experience work in a long-term healthcare facility or in the healthcare field. 
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excel experience preferred.
