About the role

Techno Consult is looking for a detail-driven Scheduler or Senior Scheduler to support a high-profile tunneling project based in New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of construction scheduling—particularly in complex, underground environments—and experience using advanced scheduling tools to track progress, manage resources, and forecast risks.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain detailed baseline and updated project schedules using Primavera P6, with a specific focus on tunneling phases, shaft construction, and support of excavation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to gather progress data and validate schedule assumptions.
• Analyze schedule impacts due to design changes, field conditions, or contractor performance; recommend mitigation strategies as needed.
• Identify and monitor critical path and near-critical activities, and provide early warnings on schedule slippage or sequencing issues.
• Generate regular schedule reports, including look-ahead schedules, time-impact analyses, variance reports, and resource histograms.
• Participate in risk analysis efforts and integrate mitigation strategies into the project schedule.
• Support change order evaluations by providing time impact analyses and updated sequencing logic.
• Collaborate with cost control and project controls teams to align schedule data with cost and resource tracking systems.
• Attend coordination meetings and provide expert input on schedule-related matters, including logistics, sequencing, and phasing.
• Maintain a clear audit trail of schedule updates and revisions, ensuring all documentation is complete and contract-compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of scheduling experience in heavy civil or underground infrastructure projects, with at least 2 years focused on tunneling or deep excavation.
• Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 is required; experience with schedule analytics tools (e.g., ScheduleReader, Acumen Fuse) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, critical path methodology (CPM), and tunneling-specific logistics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction phasing plans.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with earned value management and integration of cost and schedule data is preferred.
• PMP or PSP certification is a plus.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $25 - $60 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
