Scheduler

Work Shift:

Will complete work as assigned to ensure an easily accessible, streamlined and efficient scheduling process for physician’s patients and all referring entities while assuring efficient, effective and high-quality process for all departments receiving scheduling input with agreed upon service levels. Three main areas of work assignments are incorporated this position – initial patient contact for scheduling procedures, pre-authorization/certification and follow up patient contact for verifications and reminders. Competencies in all three areas are expected but work assignment may be designated to one particular area of focus.


Qualifications:

A. Education & Training:
High School graduate or GED equivalent.

B. Experience:
One (1) year clerical in medical office setting.

C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
None.

D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of personal computer and automated registration/scheduling systems. Knowledge of managed care and insurance requirements. Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and procedures and advanced automated telephone systems. Strong ability to multi-task while also maintaining professional demeanor. Exceptional skills in customer service, team building and problem solving. Knowledge of referral requirements. Exception flexibility adjusts to fluctuating call volumes. High professionalism and customer service to interact with patients and all levels of staff within the hospital.
