Scheduler – Imaging
Location: Boardman, Ohio
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role:
Southwoods Health is hiring a Scheduler for our Imaging location in Boardman, Ohio. In this role, you will coordinate directly with physician offices to schedule radiology examinations. As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for providing courteous, accurate, and timely customer service to all patients and clinical partners.
Essential Duties:
- Communication & Routing: Answer incoming calls, route inquiries efficiently, and take accurate phone messages when unable to connect a caller immediately.
- Scheduling Coordination: Schedule imaging exams with referring doctors' offices and proactively call patients on behalf of referring physicians to book their procedures.
- Pre-Exam Verification: Verify provider orders against the scheduled procedure, confirm insurance eligibility, and enter precise data into the Meditech system.
- Care Logistics: Ensure all medical authorizations, required blood work, patient preps, pre-screening documents, and previous diagnostic films are obtained prior to the patient’s exam.
- Data Management: Update patient demographic data and insurance information within the chart or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Compliance: Perform all tasks in accordance with facility policies, objectives, and mission statements. Ensure all workflow processes maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications):
- Education/Training: Completed coursework or training in business office operations, computer applications, and medical terminology.
- Technical Skills: Strong typing and computer competencies. Prior experience navigating medical databases is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous medical receptionist or healthcare scheduling experience is preferred.
- Core Competencies: Effective communication skills, professional problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor backed by strong ethical principles.
