Position Summary:

The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointments, procedures, and services across various hospital departments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and excellent patient experience. This role requires proficiency in Epic scheduling systems and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits in Epic, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  Verify patient information, insurance, and authorization requirements prior to scheduling.

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to align schedules and optimize patient flow.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide clear instructions and appointment details to patients, including pre-visit preparation and required documentation.

  
  


• 
  

  Respond to scheduling inquiries by phone, email, or in person with professionalism and empathy.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor and manage provider schedules, adjusting as needed to accommodate cancellations, reschedules, or urgent requests.

  Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA and hospital policies.

  Support patients with navigation of hospital services, including referrals and ancillary testing.

  Participate in departmental meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives.
