The Scheduler/Insurance Spec Lead is responsible for orchestrating the coverage and utilization of a centralized pool of schedulers. This includes distribution of labor, communication between clinics and the OR, upkeep of centralized resource documents and calendars, training new schedulers, and troubleshooting problems that arise. Additionally, responsible for scheduling surgical and other major diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician and the precertification required by those procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy Hospital St. Louis - Heart and Vascular

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

Preferred Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: None.
Experience: 3 years' experience in a medical environment. 1 year of experience as a scheduler.
Certification/Registration: None
Other Skills and Knowledge: Medical terminology. Computer skills. Telephone etiquette. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
