Scheduler/Telephone Operator

We are looking for a full-time Patient Service Specialist/Scheduler/Telephone Operator to join our top notch professionals at our Spring Office!

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting in answering incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Schedules and reschedules patients' appointments per established protocols and assists with filing and medical record maintenance. Tasks may be integrated into other positions/job duties involving check in/check out, insurance verification, etc. Scheduler serves as the primary telephonic customer service representative for SROSM.

Essential Duties:

• Primarily telephonic customer service representative for SROSM
• Screens solicitors for relevance to organization needs
• Responds promptly to patient needs and requests.
• Professionally answer telephone calls and and routes them appropriately, offering voicemail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed
• Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
• Prints out all necessary forms for patient charts and clinic staff.
• Schedule and reschedule patient's appointments per established provider protocols
• Update patient information as needed in EMR, Athena preferred.
• Assist with benefit verification processes as needed
• Perform other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed.

Education and Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 coding, preferred
• Experience with operator processes
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
• 2 years' experience in a medical office environment preferred.
• Familiarity with computers, office equipment, and medical/insurance software.
• Basic office skills such as typing and filing.
